Norwich CCC

Norwich CCC, Martineau Lane, Norwich, Norfolk, NR1 2HX

Map and places

Saturday 24th May

7am - rain. Postponed packing the car as we are currently experiencing a good downpour; which is forecast all morning.
1.50pm arrived, thinking we would be pitching in the rain we were surprised to find it sunny, we were given a flat and relatively dry area.

Perfect pitch - who'd have thought it had been raining an hour earlier.

late lunch and walked into Norwich.

Sunday 25th May

Walked into Norwich, riverside walk,

City-side walk along the river Wensum

to Cow Tower; an English Heritage building built as a city defence; the only EH place in Norwich.

Cow Tower - our English Heritage visit

Continued along the river and then onto the cathedral . After walking around we found a small pub called tge Adam and Eve, believed to be the oldest pub in Norwich, serving some decent beer.

Pimms and a 'Golden Jackal' at the Adam and Eve

We discovered that we are in the city's fine ales week,  where participating pubs stamp a book once you've bought an ale in there. Once the book is completed then you are entitled to the prize of a tee shirt. We'll never do all in a couple of days.

A few more sights then back to the tent for a barbeque and another short walk.

Monday 26th May

Easy breakfast and a walk to Norwich Castle, spent a few hours looking round.

Norwich Castle

Walked to the R.C Cathedral, then back for a beer and tea.
